Performances:
Laguna Dance Festival presents world-class dance companies and individual performers. Since its inception, the festival has presented companies such as Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Parson’s Dance Company, Hubbard Street 2, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre and American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet and New York City Ballet dancers plus much more! The Festival’s annual Gala event, Stars of Dance, has showcased the dance world’s most electrifying talents from stage, Broadway theatre, television and film. Main stage performances of featured dance companies take place at the Laguna Playhouse. Each year’s festival also entices audiences by offering free site-specific, gallery and outdoor performances where hundreds of audience members can enjoy dancers from educational institutions, local dance companies and guest performers from across the country.
Education:
Laguna Dance Festival brings numerous free opportunities to the community by bringing high quality dance to the heart of Orange County. Along with our free site-specific, gallery and outdoor performances we offer interactive dance classes to the public. Dance students, pre-professionals and professionals can participate in our Master Class Series offered through out the year, and along with attending theatre performances the audience can join in pre-performance talks given by performers, choreographers and directors prior to the show.
The Laguna Dance Festival is also proud to collaborate with the University of California, Irvine, by bringing company residencies, classes and showings to The Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Dance Department. Our highly regarded educational component serves as a performing art pipeline to thousands of elementary, high school and university students in Orange and LA county, as well as carefully chosen outreach programs designed for the underserved.
