2005

This year marks a significant milestone for the CaDance Festival. The festival brought world-class dance companies and individual performers, master teachers and artistic collaborators to Southern California for eight days with four performances at the Artists’ Theatre and dance installations in galleries throughout Laguna Beach.

In October 2005, we transformed our name and established a new non-profit organization, setting the stage for a vibrant future. Our inaugural performances took place at the picturesque Laguna Beach High School’s Artists Theater, laying the foundation for a rich legacy of artistic expression and community engagement.

"I can think of nothing more beautiful to give the world, than the gift of amazing bodies in movement at their highest form. One of America's top ballerina's , Jodie Gates brings this special gift to Laguna Beach. Jodie will surely raise the standard of contemporary dance in Southern California by bringing this exciting caDance Festival to the community." – Patrick Swayze

"Kudos to the CADANCE Festival for having the vision to bring the most inspiring new dance company in America, Complexions, back to California. This is the most dynamic company since the birth of Alvin Ailey to plant its feet on the dance scene. Not to be missed!" Debbie Allen

"Jodie Gates is an artist of extraordinary range and exquisite sensibilities. Our work together was based on a common vision of the intensity and relevance of dance as art. This particular view of the practice, in the hands of the artists like Ms. Gates, has a transformative, life altering effect on those who witness this insight in action." William Forsythe
